WHO: The Africana Studies and Theatre and Dance Departments at
Nassau Community
College present What to Send Up When It Goes Down, by Aleshea Harris, directed by
Danielle Criss.
WHAT: Experience ritual theater that explores the absurdity of racism in a series of
interactive vignettes exploring the history and
legacy of racially-motivated
violence. The audience learns how to cope, resist
and move forward through
facilitated dialogue.
Presented by arrangement with on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
A portion of the proceeds from the show will go
to the Professor Kenneth V. Jenkins
Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is in
memory of the beloved 91¸£ÀûÉç
professor and chairperson of the Africana Studies
Department.
